From April 4th to 7th, 2019, the 21st edition of the Art Paris Art Fair will bring together 150 modern and contemporary art galleries under the majestic glass roof of the Grand Palais. Art Paris Art Fair; a leading modern and contemporary art event
Diversity, discovery and making contemporary art accessible to a wide audience are the objectives of the Art Paris Art Fair, which features nearly 150 modern and contemporary art galleries from some twenty countries. The show combines European art from the post-war era to today along with emerging creativity from across the globe.
Women artists and Latin America are stage centre
The 2019 edition of Art Paris presents a critical and subjective overview of French female artists. This part of the show is divided into four themes; feminist avant-garde, abstraction, image and theatricality.
Latin American creativity is also showcased at this show in an exploration of the artistic diversity of this part of the world from the 1960s to the present day. Entitled Southern Stars, it features twenty galleries exhibiting artists from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Chile and more. Also on the agenda is a presentation of works by female artists of the South American continent.
46 monographic exhibitions and support for emerging artists
For some years the Art Paris Art Fair has encouraged the presentation of monographic exhibitions. Similarly, the ‘Promises’ sector aims to support newer galleries and emerging artists. About fifteen galleries that have been in existence for less than 6 years will each highlight up to 3 artists who will soon be making their mark.
